Finding a Workamping Job in Alaska

Are you considering a Workamping job in Alaska? It’s an amazing way to spend a season in the Last Frontier while earning some money for your next adventure. If you have an RV and want to spend a summer living and working in Alaska, Holland America Princess offers full RV hook-ups at several of its sites, creating the perfect summer opportunity for workampers. If you’d rather pitch a tent, you can do that too. Here are some of the different locations where you can land the perfect position.

Kenai Princess Wilderness Lodge

While each of our locations is situated in gorgeous, pristine areas of Alaska, working in Kenai places you adjacent to both the Chugach National Forest and the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge. If you’re interested in fishing, rafting, horseback riding, or almost any outdoor-related activity you can think of, this is the place to live and work. The Kenai Princess Wilderness Lodge, an 86-room resort in the Alaska community of Cooper Landing and overlooking the Kenai River, each year seeks servers, dishwashers, cooks, bartenders, room attendants, gift shop and front desk employees, as well as housekeeping, maintenance, and supervisory and management positions. We also need people to work in the RV park, where we hope you will decide to stay.

Ketchikan Transportation and Guest Services

The Southeastern Alaska city of Ketchikan is found in the southern part of the Tongass National Forest, the largest U.S. national forest. Most of its area is part of the temperate rainforest WWF ecoregion and is home to stunning mountain vistas, beautiful fjords and glaciers. In this location, you will have not only a vast array of outdoor activities right outside your campsite but also the vibrant arts community of Ketchikan. Positions available at this location include driver guides – both those with and without commercial driver’s licenses – dispatchers, passenger service reps, fleet detailers and administrative workers. Commercial drivers completing our training program can earn college credit.

Copper River Princess Wilderness Lodge

This 85-room lodge overlooks the salmon-rich Copper River on 200 acres of property. Not enough space for you? Well, Copper River Princess Wilderness Lodge is located at the gateway of the Wrangell-St. Elias National Park. At 13.2 million acres, the Wrangell-St. Elias is North America’s largest national park, which should keep you busy on your off days!
Find a position working at the tour desk, the front desk, housekeeping, food and beverage services, maintenance, the gift shop, accounting or human resources.

Denali Princess and Mt. McKinley Wilderness Lodges

Working at either of these two lodges is an excellent choice for RV adventurers looking to spend a summer in or near Denali National Park. The Denali Princess Wilderness Lodge is situated near the park entrance on the George Parks Highway. The Mt. McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge is south of Denali National Park and Preserve but within the connected Denali State Park, a short drive from both Trapper Creek and Talkeetna. Both lodges offer employee discounts on tours – and there are plenty of outdoor activities and adventures that workers of all ages will enjoy. Both lodges offer sports courts or fields, exercise rooms, movies and desktop computers. Choose from jobs in luggage handling, maintenance, administration, housekeeping, gift shops, front desk, security, cooks and chefs or other food and beverage positions. Note: The RV sites at our Denali location is near our property but not on the property, so it’s best if you also have a vehicle for daily travel.

Skagway Transportation and Guest Services

Choosing a job at the Skagway location puts you in a popular historical port town surrounded by mountains. Try day-off activities like river floats and rock climbing. We look for commercial driver-guides, tour desk reps, office and dock reps, and crews to work with luggage and detailing.
