My name is Cody and I am the Social Coordinator for the 2008 MPL Season. I come from Tiffin, OH, where I spent the last 3 1/2 years attending Heidelberg College, majoring in Music (Voice Performance) and Psychology. I began my search for summer employment in mid-November when I decided that I would like to take the next semester off school and focus on some “real world experience”.
I originally sought out a performing/entertainment position on a cruise ship which lead me to Princess. After much online research and consideration, I discovered an open position in the Human Resources department of Mt. McKinley Princess Alaska Lodge. Throughout the past two years during the summer months I worked as a member of Leadership for Cedar Point Amusement Park’s Ride Operations department, and had always enjoyed facilitating employee relations amongst my crew. I was quick to apply for that particular position at MPL and was shortly contacted by Mindy Bickle, manager of Human Resources, to be interviewed. At college I have always been very active with various recreational groups and I have been responsible for the planning of many community and campus wide events, so I quickly accepted when the position was offered to me.
This summer has been a rewarding and a learning experience. Working with Princess has allowed me the chance to work with so many different people. I am proud to say I am a member of such a well working and diverse team of people. I have made several lifelong friends and experienced a part of the world that not many people get to visit. I am so happy to live and work in such a beautiful place, and so thankful to Princess for giving me this opportunity.
