Anchorage

Alaska’s largest city has more than half of the population of the entire state and offers all of the modern conveniences of a major city. This city of 250,000 residents is uniquely placed between the mountains of Chugach State Park, the nation’s largest state park, and the waters of the Cook Inlet. Among the modern buildings are many parks and trails meandering throughout the area. There are also wonderful opportunities for hiking, biking, and backpacking nearby.
