Dawson City is a small lively town bursting with history dating back over 100 years. Our operation is nestled between wooden boardwalks and historic Gold Rush buildings. This colorful community provides a unique experience for not only our guests but our team as well. We developed and operate a variety of excursions in Dawson City that entice our guests to experience this unique location. Westmark Inn Dawson City

Employment opportunities include seasonal positions at the award winning Westmark Inn Dawson City. After work, head down to the waterfront for a ride on the Klondike Spirit Paddlewheeler. History buffs can explore the homes of famous authors Jack London and Robert W. Service. Or head to a canteen and mingle with the locals.

Number of Employees

There are approximately 12 local employees that operate the transportation services. We have full-time and part-time employees so if you have already landed a job in Dawson and are looking for some extra hours, contact us!


Employee housing is limited and very expensive. We offer shared, subsidized housing on a first come, first serve basis. Housing can be very difficult to find on your own and there are very limited internet resources where local people list their housing. We also have contacts at a local RV park if you own a RV and want to live in that for the season – typical monthly rates are $800+ for full-hook ups.

Typical Season

Our training will begin in May and the season will end in September. Driver/guide positions might begin training in April. We look for candidates that are available until the end of the season but also hire a few that must leave early due to school commitments.

Out of Country Applicants

If you are not a Canadian Citizen, you must first obtain a working VISA before you apply for a Canadian position regardless of what country you currently reside. There are many different agencies that you can contact.

Getting Around

Dawson City is a small town and everything around town is easily accessible by foot. Many locals also rely on their bikes to get around town.

Types of Jobs

All of our full-time jobs are 5 days a week – 8 hours a day – we also try to give you 2 days off in a row so that you can enjoy your time in Dawson – although due to unforeseen circumstances this isn’t a guarantee (but we do try real, real hard to do this for you). Our busiest times of the day are in the morning when all of our guests depart or are taking local tours and in the early evening/late afternoon when our guests return from their tours or arrive in town. Some of the positions we offer are:

Administrative Supervisors

Guest Sales/Service Hosts (full-time and part-time)

Driver/Guide (full-time and part-time) – you MUST have a Class to or Class B/C licence for these jobs – with airbrake endorsement and no more than 2 moving violations in the last 2 years.

Tombstone Territorial Park Guide – must hold or be willing to obtain a class 4 Yukon driver’s license

Transportation to Dawson

You are responsible for your own costs of getting to and from Whitehorse at the beginning and end of the season. We will get you to and from Dawson City. There are 3 major airlines that fly into Whitehorse:, and You can also drive your personal vehicle or choose to take the Greyhound bus. Due to the nature of the employment agreement this does not apply to employees who are hired under the J1 visa program.
