Home of the Klondike Gold Rush National Historic Park, Skagway is overflowing with vibrant history. The beautiful downtown area is flush with historic buildings, old-fashioned storefronts, and wooden sidewalks that make visitors feel as if they’ve taken a step back in time. If you’re in search of some fresh air, Skagway hosts an extensive trail system just a few blocks from downtown. Head out into the wild for a day hike and see alpine lakes and waterfalls, or take a train to the top of nearby White Pass.

Westmark Inn Skagway

The Westmark Skagway is a seasonal hotel that is located in the center of the Klondike Gold Rush National Historic Park in the heart of downtown Skagway’s Historic District. We host over 15,000 guests in our facility during the short summer season (May  through Sept). While here, guests can visit a museum to learn more about the famed Gold Rush or hop on a trolley for a relaxing and informative ride around town.

Our staff enjoys the endless opportunities for recreational activities in this thriving community to include hiking in some of the most spectacular scenery Alaska has to offer. Our support facilities include a 200 seat dining room, a 125 seat Bar & Grill, a small banquet and meeting room, car rental, guest laundry, and more. We employ around 80 people each season.

As an employee of the Skagway Transportation office, take part in our guests’ historical experience. Make your way along the Gold Rush route, enjoy picturesque views, and keep your eyes open for local wildlife as you show our guests the wonders of Alaska.
