Working for Holland America as a Kluane tour guide was the experience of a lifetime. First of all, being able to visit an amazing place every day is a great start, and Kluane national park truly is a place of stunning landscapes and unique attributes. The excitement and motivation that drives me as an employee does not wear off simply because I get to go back to a place that I felt in love with, and that in itself is enough to make the summer unforgettable.

First of all, being able to visit an amazing place every day is a great start, and Kluane national park truly is a place of stunning landscapes and unique attributes. The excitement and motivation that drives me as an employee does not wear off simply because I get to go back to a place that I felt in love with, and that in itself is enough to make the summer unforgettable.
But there is even more to it, like the stretch of the Alaska Highway that we drive to get there, from Whitehorse to Haines Junction. The changing geography, the flora and sometimes the wildlife encountered brings a lot of incredible knowledge to its visitors, making the journey to Kluane very educational as well as entertaining. Still to this day, I only feel like I scratched the surface and yet there is still so much to learn about this meaningful land and the history around it.
Also, this excitement and joy being contagious, my job completely becomes a pleasant experience when I get to share my passion of the area with amazing people that are often charmed by the experience and grateful for it.
…So, when it comes down to it, my job is to have a great time with my guests, and with a tour like this one, I have to admit, it is really not a hard thing to do.
