Juneau Transportation & Guest Services Jobs

Alaska’s capitol is the state’s third largest city (approximately 30,000 people). Juneau is a coastal town, nestled between the 1,500 square mile Juneau Icefield and Gastineau Channel. The city is accessible only by airplane or boat. While somewhat remote, Juneau has all of the amenities of a mid-sized city. Endless trails depart from town taking you into some of the most pristine wilderness in the country. The Mendenhall Glacier, one of the most highly photographed glaciers in Alaska, is located within the city limits. Juneau prides itself in its history dating back to the late 1800’s when gold was discovered in a nearby creek.

Housing Options

There are many options for housing due to the seasonal nature of the Legislative Session that compliments the tour season. We provide you with options to connect with other employees and arrange shared housing or to look for housing independently. This allows you the freedom to choose your roommates and housemates. The average cost of housing is $400/month. You may search apartment listings in our local newspaper, the Juneau Empire, by logging onto www.juneauempire.com.

Transportation

For Driver-Guides, roundtrip transportation is provided to and from Seattle, with a fixed additional rate provided from recruiting divisions. For those Driver-Guides that would like to make their own way to and from Alaska, a fixed rate reimbursement will be provided. Due to the nature of the employment agreement this does not apply to employees who are hired under the J1 visa program.
