Work In The Operations & Logistics Department

Alaska Tour Jobs has logistics and operations teams in every transportation division. Some logistics teams create welcome envelopes for arriving guests which include details on their accommodations, booked tours, optional excursions, departure times, luggage tags, vouchers, and other useful information. Most of this work is done in an office during regular business hours.

Operations team members manage the flow of traffic, greet guests, and assist with luggage. The staff distributes the welcome envelopes, helps guests get to their next destination, and answers questions about local activities. Most of this work occurs outside and involves a great deal of walking and standing, so some endurance is required. You may also be asked to help create welcome envelopes and perform other tasks around the office.

Required Skills & Qualifications

You will be trained on the business applications required for a job in operations and logistics; prior experience is preferred along with a good attitude, a willingness to learn, and a desire to contribute. You may be asked to drive company service vehicles or vans, although we rarely transport guests. A passion for traveling in Alaska and Yukon will also help you get the most out of working with our operations and logistics teams.

Other requirements include:

Dispatchers and logistics coordinators must meet the federal ADA laws
You must be at least 21 years of age to obtain a CDL
Current valid commercial drivers license (CDL) class B with an air brake endorsement (may be obtained through company sponsored training course)
You must be able to attend all required training sessions
